Hello everyone, so it was a pretty intense weekend, started with a fun gig in London at Night Tales curated by Coco Maria and her Club Coco. It was a pleasure to share the decks with Mafalda and Coco Maria and enjoyed a very openminded crowd. And I can't say nothing wrong about the sound at Night Tales, good one and good team.
Slept a good hour before jumping on the first Eurostar train back to Brussels, to arrive just in time for some soundchecks with dancers and rappers! Yes, I curated the sunday evening at the Ancienne Belgique with some artists I've worked with and others I really wanted to invite. It was such an honor to welcome them all, from Badbadnotgood coming over for one show only and playing a throwback set 2011/2012 style so sick and Let It Happen, the three sisters from Maastricht, NL who never cease to amaze me. And of course some of the best local talent as well, Susobrino bringing the cumbia, all the rappers Jazz Brak, Nag, Blu Samu, Spreej and Peet, my own Motherless Father dancers and the crazy duo Lander & Adriaan who destroyed the room with a performance in the middle of the crowd. I didn't make it easy for everyone, a party on a sunday late afternoon is not the easiest on the planning but was happy to see a full ballroom for the occasion.
I wrote something about the night over here as well and for those interested there are some nice shots taken by the inhouse photographer as well. |
Dominique Brion shot this one If you missed this event I hope I can be of any help to one of my next gigs in Miami or Brussels.
Upcoming weekendFind me in Miami on saturday for Art Basel at the amazing Dante's Hifi for PRESSURE, my homeboy Dvize's concept playing only bass music on vinyl all night. See you there I hope if you're on that side of the world.

Think Outside The Kiosk - 30 Years in music anniversary mixAs I wanted to broadcast the anniversary on Kiosk Radio and realised it would become hard to set up technically I decided to give you at least a little something to celebrate with me. I recorded a show that takes you down memory lane with some of my favorite tracks, just a few but better than nothing.
Have a listen over here, on my Mixcloud page per usual.
Thank you for reading and clicking. Enjoy the rest of your week :) and on to the next newsletter. |
