Yeah, this might be kinda random since the last time I sent out a newsletter was nearly a decade ago. The world looks hella different now! Grey hairs are a reality, kids, the banality of ego, but before we catch up, how did we get here? Back then I was using Revue. They got acquired by Twitter, which got bought by Elon, who turned it into X before he kinda bought the US elections. Now, based on what happened to Revue, I'm not sure what's on the roadmap for democracy. Either way, I wanted to reboot this newsletter for old times' sake. Those innocent early blogging days. When sharing felt personal and real-life connections were forged. Yup, mad nostalgia vibes. This is just me, myself, AI sharing no nonsense perspectives about technology mixed with personal anecdotes and links to feed your curiosity. So, I started a newsletter... service. Why? Well, all the existing tools didn't really do it for me. I was looking for something like TinyLetter, which got bought by Mailchimp, who shut it down before they sold out. What's left is for folks in sales, marketeers and twenty something year old content creators selling templates how to grow your personal brand or start an OF. Hence, Rumicat is here. For those who want to send newsletters without all the poespas. My nine-year-old designed the logo and we're having fun building this. Would be cool if you stay, but even goede vrienden if you decide to move on. Before you go, here are some links:
If you like to browse the internet using Safari, I'd recommend Hush to block annoying popups from cookies to anything really. Kudos to Joel Arvidsson! Read this book about ASML. Or, as they call it in the corridors of Capitol Hill, “That company.” I highly recommend it to anyone who's bashing Europe. Anjan is building Daylight and shared a sneak peek of how they're integrating AI to keep things focused. Reading and learning is becoming so much more interesting! Here’s a nifty little app that lets you create 3d mockups. This will save you hours of wasted time in After Effects. You’re welcome. Another app, cuz why not? This one has mad Foursquare vibes, with genZ flavours. Their pitch is like; "Use your phone to get off your phone and go outside." Ever visited Colossal recently? The OGs of sharing creative work. They also curate grants, open calls, and residencies for artists. Have a look! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! DOOM: The Gallery Experience was created as an art piece designed to parody the wonderfully pretentious world of gallery openings. If you're in e-commerce, or if you wanna monetise your audience, you should checkout this webinar. Jons is your go-to-guy! My man dreams about frameworks. ICYMI, last summer WeTransfer was bought by Bending Spoons, who then fired most of the team a month after the acquisition, in a hurry to IPO. Damian, shared his experience around the sale on the Secret Leaders podcast. Reading Useful, Not True from Derek Sivers helped me reframe life and... move on hahaha. It's not a fucking self help book, but help yo'self by reading this book.
