When we use the english language to express agreement with someone, we might say that we "subscribe" to their point of view. It's an excellent choice of word(s) in the context of newsletters. Nalden, who built Rumicat, explains it like this:

"...subscribers are people who subscribe to something or someone. You subscribe to a point of view. There's a difference in the incentive. In the commitment. It takes effort to consume, to read, instead of scrolling into the next piece of x-second content."
