Starting this Friday, I will publish short essays on specific roguelike topics. They are supposed to be quick reflections on essential issues for understanding roguelikes, but they will be explained more fully in the book. Once again, they are forms of thinking out loud. In the following three weeks, I will post three of these short texts on The Run, The Metagame, and The Daily, and then I will go on hiatus until mid-January. Besides the holidays, I am busy learning Godot so it can become the main engine of my future game-related courses. (Thanks to Rafa Laguna and Arsgames for organizing a phenomenal Godot workshop—things are really cooking in Barcelona!). I may write about Godot and why I have chosen it in a newsletter soon. Finally, the move to Ghost will have to wait a bit. I’ve been busy with talks and other commitments and want to dedicate time to moving away from this platform. I expect that Ghost will already send the January newsletter. That’s it for now! Stay tuned to this Friday’s roguelike reflections advent post (or something). |
