Ridiculous Songs for Kids - Out Now!

Hiya Panpals,

FANSPLABULOUS NEWS! I've got a new album out called Ridiculous Songs for Kids!

I made this album to amuse my sons, but if you and/or your kids like it that's great too 😜 My children are now 6 and 3.5, so by this point I've listened to literally 100 billion hours of children's music. Some of it was so bad or so twee it haunted my dreams. So I set out to make a kids album full of BANGERS! It has four thumbs up from my kids, so that's a pretty great review imo.

Give it a listen and let me know what you or any kids in your life think of it. It's available on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp if you'd like to buy it directly and support me to make more music. Have fun!

Shows!

I'm doing a load of shows over the summer, mostly with a fun food festival that tours Wales, called Street Food Circus. I did some shows with them last year when I was experimenting with the name Mushy P and they loved it as a character that tied in with the food festival theme and wanted me back under the same name! Mushy P has become a sort of kids mascot for the festival, which is fun, but also a bit messy cos I decided to release all the songs under my real name in the end... OH WELL!

I've put loads of dates up here, there are a few more music festival dates on the way but more info on those to come:

I'm hoping to do more shows this year, if you'd like me to play somewhere near you let me know and I can look into it!

Good Stuff!

Here are some things I've been enjoying recently that you might enjoy too...

🎵 Los Pirañas - Una Oportunidad más de triunfar en la vida
Wonky, happy, "Avant-Latin" music from Columbia. As one listener's review puts it: "Listening to this makes it really difficult to be grumpy."

📼 Angine de Poitrine - Full Performance (Live on KEXP)
Maybe you've seen this already (7 million views now whoooaaa) but if not I'm happy to be the one to share it with you. Wonky atonal guitar rock n roll music from a couple of bizarre space-time travellers. Seeing this made me happy that the human creative spirit still thrives in the age of AI!

📼 Matt McCreary (Instagram)
Matt McCreary moves his body in unusual and goofy ways, in conversation with the environment and architecture around him.

🎵 Crackazat - Shine EP
The first track on this sunny disco/house flavoured EP had me dancing around the kitchen!

Check out the archives for more good stuff :)

Bye!

That's it for now. How are you? Have you seen or made anything cool you'd like to share with me?

Love
Simon
