Save the date, Pascal Duval, 'Once Upon a Time Called Now'

Pascal Duval returns with his fourth solo show at Bisou. 'Once Upon a Time Called Now' is a new body of paintings built around his fascination with the group: fans, street gangs, dinner tables, boardrooms, band lineups. People who found each other, or were thrown together, and in that proximity became something bigger.

Opening weekend: Friday 26 June (18.00–21.00) and Saturday 27 June (14.00–17.00). Pascal will be present on both days. You are very welcome to celebrate with us. RSVP to join us for the opening

I sat down with Pascal Duval in his Amsterdam studio, on the brink of his fourth solo show with Bisou. We talked about belonging and not quite belonging, about skate crews and subcultures that felt just out of reach, and that particular feeling of being part of something while remaining an outsider at the same time.

The interview includes work in progress shots from the studio and a Spotify playlist curated by Pascal, the evolving soundtrack to his new show, because for Pascal, music and work are inseparable.

Faan Olgers in Manera Magazine

Amsterdam-born and raised artist Faan Olgers is featured in the latest issue of Manera Benelux. Photographer Anwyn Howarth visited Faan in his Amsterdam studio, and what a pleasure it was to work with her. Writer Charlotte Boates spoke with him about a practice built on self-imposed rules and apparent impossibilities, with someone who, by his own definition, is not an artist but a constructor. “The work pulls me, and I follow.”
