“The best things in life are free. The second best are very expensive.”- Coco Chanel A Familiar ViewYesterday, Lindsay and I walked more than 26,000 steps through Amsterdam. The weather was wonderful, and we started the day early. We visited the market while the vendors were still setting up, then strolled through the city before it became busy with tourists. While crossing a canal, I stopped on a bridge to admire the view. In that moment, I realised how beautiful Amsterdam is when the city is still quiet. I also remembered my first time here. I was mesmerised by the canals. More than eight years later, the same views have become so familiar that I often take them for granted. The walk reminded me that the best things in life are often already around us. Sometimes, we need to stop and notice them again. What simple thing are you grateful for this week? Take a moment to think of a small experience, a familiar view, or an ordinary moment that brought you joy. #SimpleThings #Gratitude #SlowLiving |
