I have a love

For those of you who are new, welcome. It is probably too laborious for me to explain who I am but hopefully you came for music and that's what I'll post.

I do promise it'll be what I'm listening to, often on repeat, until the groove has worn a groove into my soul. I think my friends think I'm exaggerating when I say I've listened to songs over 100 times but...I'm not.

The mood

Have you ever been at a rave/club/party surrounded by friends but missing your friends? Missing the friends that couldn't make it? The ones that are no longer around? The friends you miss so much sometimes that your heart aches? Their memory lives on with you, with the stories you tell, loudly or quietly, as you enjoy the present moment in their stead and dance as the sun rises or the party wanes.

First of all, while I love the remix, you should watch the very heartfelt original. I don't know Paul, but I miss them all the same.

It's no secret that I love rave culture (heads-up: whatever Frankie Bones has done to their Tumblr theme didn't allow me to scroll so I had to open it up in reader view), I think there's an honesty in the musical moment that's unlike any other, maybe it's the drugs (which I don't do), but often I like to think it's the assumption of the shared feeling of ecstacy (again, not the drug), that you are there, like others, to collectively experience joy. This remix slots right into the empty space next to Underworld's Born Slippy, Orbital's Belfast, and most notably John Digweed's Heaven Scent in Groove (2000).
