Hi there, welcome to The Une, Weekly #11. Summer holidays. Time to recharge, reflect and wonder. So here’s a weekly with lots of wonderful wonderings about values…
What if... What if values don't primarily exist inside people, What if values live neither out there in the world, nor in here in our heads, but arise in the space between a person and their environment, between self and other? What if values emerge when we genuinely encounter another person? And if values emerge in relationship, what does that mean for how we work together? What if organisations don't simply express values, but continuously produce them? What if values can't be installed, nor stated into existence, but are practiced into being? What if the question isn't, "How do we get people to live our values?" What if leadership is not the guardian of values, but the gardener of relationships? And what if we take it one step further… What if values are how we create value? What if value coherence means this: the value you create matches the values you live? What if value is not something organisations produce, but something that emerges from relationship, and values are the qualities of the relationship that make value possible? What if organisations that understand this stop asking, For help answering this question 👋 hello@une.eco Move as one. For the benefit of all. — Laurens & Jorn |
