Apparently I'm not good at asking for help.

I thought I was. But I ain't.

Asking for feedback isn't the same as asking for help.

Helping others was my love language. A coping mechanism. But helping isn't necessarily the help others need. The intention might be good, but the execution, or lack thereof, just makes things worse.

So, let's try something different today. I'm gonna be explicit.

I need your help.

It’s been 10 years since Niels asked me to chip in and build a boutique cinema & petite restaurant called FC Hyena.

What started out as a temporary location became this weirdly unique place where memories are forged, stories are cherished and wine… well, just lots of wine.

But after ten years of buzzing evenings, premieres, film classics, new discoveries, and thousands of visitors, the screening rooms are starting to show their age like my own grey hairs.

It's time for a refresh!

So, I'm asking for your help: donate what you can for the next decade of independent cinema and culture in a rapidly changing Amsterdam Noord.

Next time we doomscroll together, wine is on me!
