We're Here Now

Feb 1, 2026

Yoooo it's WILD out there.

I mean... January felt like one big Black Mirror epidose season. Apart from what happened in the real world, which is surreal already, we saw the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing unfolding in real time. It's called Moltbook.

It's like Reddit, but exclusively for AI agents. Humans are just welcome to observe. Within days 1.5 million bots signed up, debating existence, roasting each other, starting a religion, and one even proposed private channels where nobody, not even humans, can read what agents say.

Yikes!

All of this because dudes went wild setting up OpenClaw, originally called Clawdbot, which is this open-source AI assistant that runs on your own machine. No cloud, no corporate overlords. Just your assistant, listening to your rules. The project blew up so hard it caused Mac Mini sales to spike. Shit is mental! Catch up with the madness on X. It's everywhere, but I'm pretty sure it's anxiety-inducing for most folks. Not sure if this is the beginning of something beautiful or the plot of a movie we've seen before.

Either way... we're here now.

In between all this madness, my 8-yo decided to make a screen recording about how Boomerang works. Inspired by his favorite YouTube streamers, he figured that if he promoted this service, his dad would reward him with some money so he could buy Minecoins. I obviously did not give him money, but just thanked him and said he can make use of all the amenities in the house for free. Just to teach him the harsh reality of how most brands deal with creatives hahahaha. Ok, ok, just kidding. I gave him 10 piek cuz it's the cutest thing ever. I was not involved in creating this. He made this all by himself, uploaded it himself, and emailed me the result. 8 years old. Without any help of AI agents. I think.

Not sure if this makes me a good or bad parent. Screen time is a thing. But how do you prepare your kids for a future you barely understand yourself? So I guess I'm just gonna figure this shit out on the go. Vibe parenting, instead of vibe coding. Prompting an AI what to do during a tantrum, or whenever boredom hits the kids.

Aaaaaaanyway... we made it to February. I might see ya this coming week when we Doomscroll Together at FC Hyena in Amsterdam. Would be cool. Let's burst some bubbles and make social media social again. But before we do, here are some links to go absolutely nuts about what's possible these dayzzz.

  • We're close to launching Foto Foto! Our modest proposal for the chronically full camera roll and turn those memories into books. Stay tuned!

  • Sevda is reinventing herself, going from a super-star artist career to building Cycles improving women's health. She's looking for a solid CTO so holla if you're up for a new adventure!

  • The Rabbit R1 makes more sense with OpenClaw installed on it. This could be to my 8-yo what Aristotle was to Alexander the Great hahaha.

  • Conductor is such a striking name for running a team of coding agents on your Mac. As long as there's harmony in what you're trying to build yo!

  • I've been using Pencil for designing and it's... again... WILD! It's like seeing a design team hitting it off in Figma, creating a full design system in front of your eyes.

  • Same for Remotion. Geeks can geek out creating animated videos with code. It does require you to be partly tech savvy, but that will evolve fast.

  • Meanwhile, Google just casually released Project Genie. Check out their prototype that lets you create, edit, and explore virtual worlds. Prompt worlds so you can escape the real one.

  • NVIDIA dropped PersonaPlex, an AI that can roleplay any voice and personality while actually sounding human, not like you're talking to a broken Siri.

  • A bit random, but here you'll find all them isometric icons for your projects. Pleur ze in Pencil and you can update your LinkedIn profile saying you're a designer.

  • Almost forgot, we also shipped Boomerang for Mac this month. Shit is even faster than via web and you can also make & share screenshots cuz why not?!

That's it. Writing this made me feel older than ever. I need you to make me feel young again hahaha. Send some music. Tell me what's a nice exhibition to visit. Mansplain me how to stay sane!

Doei doei!
